FAQs
-
If you’re within my catchment area of Herne Bay, Canterbury, Whitstable, Faversham, & Thanet I can come to you for in-person sessions.
If not, don’t worry! Get in touch and we can discuss online training support.
-
There’s no pressure over which package you should choose, nor any judgement - simply pick whichever best suits your current circumstances. If you need help deciding, however, here is an insight of my vision whilst I was designing the options:
If your Puppy’s behaviour feels intense or overwhelming, or you’re a new puppy owner, you’re likely going to benefit from the more frequent sessions of the Super Package.
If you’re looking to build on the solid foundations you already have, or you’re a veteran puppy owner but would like help with specific aspects, the less frequent sessions of the Basic Package might be for you.

Initial Greeting
Upon my arrival we’ll start off with a general ‘nice to meet you’ and you can show me where you’d like us to work. Don’t worry, you don’t need to stand on ceremony or worry whether your house is tidy - just treat me like a friend coming for a chat! Please don’t be offended if I keep my shoes on - they count as part of my PPE, especially to protect against puppy nibbles. I tend to recommend keeping your dog or puppy in a separate area just before the appointment starts and during this initial part of the session, while us humans greet each other, to give them a chance to get used to me and my smell before letting them out to greet me. Don’t worry if I don’t seem excited to see them or give them a big fuss to start - I like to give them time to process first and to sniff without pressure, instead of overwhelming them.
General Chat
Once settled in we can have a discussion in more depth about your goals, how things have been going so far and the initial training plan. This can include management techniques to go alongside the practical training and any recommendations for changes.
The Training
Depending on your goals and aims, I’ll introduce you to our first bits of practical training. Usually I offer demonstrations and then coach you through it yourself, but this is all very flexible, depending on how you learn best. Some sessions might have more discussion time than practical training, or vice versa, but this is completely flexible depending on your needs and your pup’s. We may also go out together for a walk where I can see and coach you through some of the challenges you may be facing first hand, where appropriate.
Questions & Troubleshooting
If you’re unsure about anything or have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! I want this all to work for you and fit into your lifestyle and will do my best to help in whichever way I can to achieve this.
Follow-Up
After our session I will send out an overview of what we covered and any resources that will be helpful for practising between sessions, or expanding your dog knowledge. If you haven’t already, this will be the perfect time for booking in your next session.
-
A selection of high-value treats (ideally meaty, soft and easy to chew, broken up into small pieces)
A treat pouch or bum-bag (we advise against cross-body bags)
A favourite toy
A blanket for your pup to settle on
A stuffed kong, lickmat, long-lasting chew or snufflemat to occupy your pup while we discuss training
A secure place for your dog to be upon my initial arrival, such as behind a stairgate, in a crate, in another room, etc. This helps to keep them safe while the front door is open and allows for the humans to get acquainted first.
-
Equipment & Training Methods: I only use pain-free and fear-free training methods, so use of the following is not permitted in sessions of me or while we are working together:

Accessibility for disabilities is vital and something I believe in strongly.
