Terms of Service

Wildshaped – Canine Behaviour and Training Services

Last updated: 28th August 2026

These Terms of Service govern all services provided by Wildshaped, operated by Heather Mortley, Head Trainer and Behaviour Specialist. By booking a session, you agree to these terms, which are designed to ensure a professional, safe, and supportive experience for both you and your dog.

1. Services Provided

Wildshaped offers humane, ethical, science-based dog training and behaviour support. Services include (but are not limited to):

  • Puppy training

  • Behaviour consultations

  • Group classes

  • 1-to-1 private sessions

  • Online training

2. Client Responsibilities

By booking a service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and honest information about your dog’s behaviour, health, and history.

  • Follow training guidance and recommendations to the best of your ability.

  • Use only humane, positive reinforcement techniques as advised.

  • Keep your dog on a lead unless otherwise directed during training.

  • Ensure your dog is up-to-date on vaccinations (where applicable).

  • Inform Wildshaped of any health or behavioural concerns that may impact training or safety.

You confirm that you are the legal owner of the dog or have the legal authority to act on behalf of the owner in booking and participating in training services.

Your full participation is essential for training to be successful. This includes regular practice, using recommended equipment, and discontinuing use of any equipment or techniques deemed unsafe or inappropriate by Heather.

Please note that every dog is an individual with their own history and temperament. While Wildshaped is committed to supporting you in reaching your training goals, results cannot be guaranteed. If you have concerns about your dog’s progress, we encourage you to contact Heather for further support.

Client Disclosure and Honesty

By engaging the services of Wildshaped, you agree that all information provided regarding your animal’s behaviour, history, and any relevant circumstances is truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge.

You acknowledge that withholding, misrepresenting, or failing to disclose pertinent details, such as previous aggression, medical conditions, or behavioural concerns, may pose a significant risk to the safety of the practitioner, yourself, the animal, and others.

Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all animal owners and keepers have a legal duty of care to ensure the welfare of their animals and to prevent harm to others. In the case of dogs, the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and related legislation impose additional responsibilities to prevent a dog from being dangerously out of control. Failure to provide full and honest disclosure may result in the immediate termination of services without refund, and Wildshaped shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from such omissions. You accept full responsibility for any legal repercussions that may arise from undisclosed behavioural issues or other relevant factors.

3. Payment, Bookings & Subscriptions

3.1 One-Off Bookings and Packages
Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. One-off sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled for a refund in accordance with Section 4.1 below.

Packages and prepaid sessions must be used within six (6) months of purchase, unless a different validity period is agreed in writing at the time of purchase. Individual sessions within a package may be rescheduled in accordance with Section 4.2; refunds for unused sessions are only available if the remaining package is cancelled in full, as set out in Section 3.3

3.2 Subscription Payments

From time to time, Wildshaped may offer subscription-based access to services, on either a fixed-term or rolling basis. The specific plan, price, and billing frequency applicable to you will be confirmed at the time of sign-up, via our online booking system.

(a) Fixed-Term Subscriptions:

Some subscriptions run for a set maximum or minimum number of billing cycles, billed in advance using the payment method provided at registration. Once a fixed-term subscription begins, payment continues for the agreed number of cycles and cannot be cancelled part-way through, in the same way a payment plan cannot be cancelled part-way through, except where required under UK consumer law (for example, during the 14-day cooling-off period, or if the services are not delivered as described). Please note the 14-day cooling-off period is waived if your first session is booked to take place within 14 days of purchasing the subscription.

At the end of the fixed term, the subscription will automatically expire and will not renew unless you actively choose to re-subscribe, unless otherwise stated at sign-up.

(b) Rolling Subscriptions:

Some subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (for example, monthly) and continue until cancelled. You may cancel a rolling subscription at any time by providing notice before your next billing date. Once cancelled, you may still redeem any existing, already-paid-for balance up until what would have been your next renewal date; no further payments will be taken after that. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods.

By subscribing to any plan, you authorise Wildshaped to charge your chosen payment method for the applicable subscription fees in accordance with the plan selected and these Terms of Service.

3.3 Refunds

One-off sessions:
Refunds are available when cancelled with more than 72 hours' notice, subject to a 2% administrative fee. Sessions may instead be rescheduled - see Section 4.1. Refunds are not available for no-shows or late cancellations.

Package and prepaid sessions: Individual sessions within a package cannot be refunded on their own - only rescheduled, as set out in Section 4.2. If you wish to cancel your package entirely, a refund for the unused portion is available where cancelled with more than 72 hours' notice before your next scheduled session, subject to a 2% administrative fee.

Subscriptions: Fees are non-refundable once payment has been processed, except:

  • during the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, provided no services have been accessed, or

  • where a statutory right to refund applies.

3.4 Provider-Initiated Rescheduling

Wildshaped reserves the right to reschedule, postpone, or adjust the format of any session — including one-off, package, or subscription sessions — where Heather reasonably believes that proceeding would affect the safety or wellbeing of any person or dog involved. This may include, but is not limited to, adverse weather conditions, illness, or other circumstances beyond Wildshaped's control.

Hot weather: Dogs are at risk of heatstroke and paw burns in warm conditions, and this risk varies by breed, age, and individual health. Where Heather judges that conditions are unsafe for outdoor training — for example, high air temperature, direct sun, or hot pavement — she may reschedule the session to a cooler time of day, move it to a shaded or indoor location, shorten it, or postpone it entirely, at her discretion.

Where a session is rescheduled, postponed, or adjusted under this clause, an alternative arrangement will be offered at no additional cost, and the rescheduling limits set out in Sections 4.1 and 4.2 will not apply.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

4.1 Individual Sessions
Each one-off session may be rescheduled once, or cancelled for a refund, provided at least 72 hours' notice is given before the scheduled session time. If less than 72 hours' notice is given, or the session has already been rescheduled once, it is forfeited: no refund will be given and it cannot be rescheduled again. No-shows will not be refunded or rescheduled.

4.2 Package Sessions
Individual sessions within a package may be rescheduled once each, provided at least 72 hours' notice is given before the scheduled session time. If less than 72 hours' notice is given, or a session has already been rescheduled once, that session is forfeited from the package: no refund will be given for it and it cannot be rescheduled again. To cancel the remainder of a package for a refund of unused sessions, see Section 3.3.

4.3 Subscription Sessions
Subscribers are responsible for booking and attending sessions within their billing cycle. Missed or unused sessions will not be refunded or carried over unless cancelled with more than 72 hours' notice and in accordance with these terms. Refunds for cancelled subscription sessions are subject to a 2% administrative fee.

4.4 Courses and Multi-Session Classes
By enrolling in a course or class package, you agree to attend all scheduled sessions. Missed sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable. If attendance is essential to meet course objectives or certification requirements, a private make-up session may be recommended at additional cost, subject to trainer availability and assessed individually.

Refunds for class packages are only available if cancelled at least 7 days before the first scheduled class. No refunds will be given for unused sessions once the course has started.

Pay-As-You-Go Classes
Refunds for pay-as-you-go sessions are only available if the session is cancelled at least 7 days in advance. Missed classes are non-refundable.

Provider Cancellations
In the event that the trainer must cancel a class or session, an alternative date will be offered or a full refund provided.

5. Safety, Liability & Conduct

  • Dogs showing signs of illness, contagious disease, or severe behavioural issues may be asked to postpone attendance.

  • No one under 18 may be the main handler of the dog.

  • Wildshaped reserves the right to exclude any participant—adult or child—if their behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or negatively affects the training environment.

You are responsible for your own and your dog's safety during training. If you or your dog are not fit for training, please inform us before the session begins.

10. Legal & Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes arising will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

Wildshaped reserves the right to amend these Terms of Service. The latest version will be published on our website and available upon request. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the latest terms.

By booking a service with Wildshaped, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
